Adam and Amber | Playa Largo Resort Wedding in Key Largo
A group of friends all went out to a baseball game, and that’s where Adam and Amber first met. They were students in nursing school, and while that day would spark the beginning of a relationship, it would be several years before they could realize their dream of being together full time, as they tried to finish their respective degrees in different cities. After graduation, Adam surprised Amber with a trip to Disney, somewhere she had always wanted to go, and finding the perfect spot overlooking the magic kingdom, he pulled out the ring and asked her to marry him, and the rest - as they say - is history!

And now enjoy some of my personal favorites from their Key Largo wedding, starting with the getting ready photos in the family’s spacious vacation rental house that overlooked the water. Everyone got ready throughout the house, and we were able to capture some beautiful detail and preparation photos before the ceremony.
One of the VIP guests that day was the couples dog, Diesel, who even had his own wedding-day dog nanny to keep him calm and entertained throughout the afternoon! We got to do some adorable photos with the pup before Amber got into her dress.
Both Amber’s and Adam’s mom both helped the bride get into her wedding dress, and put the finishing touches on her look before she gave them handmade gifts that of course brought the entire group to tears. The waterworks would continue shortly as well, as Amber’s dad came in for a “father’s first look” moment, followed by the bride descending the staircase, where her girls were all there ready to greet her at the bottom.
So that we could capture the majority of the bridal party and family portraits before the ceremony, the couple opted to do a First Look with just the two of them as well. We found a shaded walkway near the house, and had Adam wait patiently while Amber came out to meet him.
Giving the couple a few minutes to refresh themselves and take care of any last minute touch ups before they walked down the aisle, I used that time to grab some of the ceremony details, including their flower vase table placements, welcome table, guest book, and invitation suite.
Soon it was time for the ceremony, so guests found their places and the parents and bridal party processed down the aisle. I managed to sneak a cute photo of Amber and her dad as they awaited their turn at the back of the line.
The vows, ring exchange and the final kiss went off without a hitch (unless you count the swimmers who suddenly decided to use the bit of ocean directly behind the ceremony to take their laps! Lol). Afterward, it was time to celebrate, and as the witnesses signed the license, the resort staff brought out champagne and the groom popped his own bottle of celebratory beverage, as the bridal party gathered to clink glasses and prepare for the evening ahead.
The reception space was set up on the adjacent beach, with gorgeous blue skies, swaying palm trees, string lights, sparkly head table decor, and romantic linens to set the stage for a romantic island event.
The evening concluded with some stunning sunset shots out on the nearby boat docks, toasts, first dance, parent dances, and cake cutting. We wrapped up with a final photo of the couple and some fun “fire-filled” ring shots (taken by lining up the tiki torches directly behind the bauble and shooting with a 100mm macro…cool eh?).
I bid the couple farewell as we headed out and the couple returned to their guests to party the rest of the night.
Congratulations to Amber and Adam on your beautiful Florida Keys wedding!
