Teresa and James | The Reach Resort Wedding in Key West

When Teresa and James were referred to me by a mutual friend local to Key West, they reached out to me about not just their upcoming Key West wedding, but also their welcome party which would be taking place the evening before. As I came to know them better in the months leading up to the big day, I knew this was going to be a lovely couple to be part of their love story.

The welcome party was a tropical themed event that took place in a beautiful private and historic Key West home. They had the event catered with a delicious array of dishes and custom cocktails as everyone enjoyed the island breeze on the patio, sipped their beverages by the pool, and hung out with friends and family. I snuck the bride and groom out to the front porch to capture some fun photos with their tropical flowers, and at the end of the first evening, we gathered everyone together for a big group photo as they wrapped up the night.

The next morning began with some getting ready photos with Teresa in her bridal suite at The Reach Resort, getting her dress and shoes and other accessories perfectly into position, and then I headed down to the Four Marlins restaurant where James was hanging out with his friends and family. We got him buttoned up with his boutonniere and took some solo portraits of the groom as well.

After the “I do’s” were said and the rings exchanged, it was time for some fun group photos with the guests in attendance, then as everyone made their way to cocktail hour, Teresa and James stayed with me for some photos pf the two of them together on the iconic Reach Resort gazebo dock.

We made use of the beach on the property, taking in the blue ocean vibes and gentle breezes as the newlyweds reveled in their new “Mr and Mrs” status before heading upstairs to the reception in the Caribe ballroom. Since the wedding was taking place in summer, this was a great plan to keep the guests cool in the warm Florida Keys weather while still enjoying the picturesque island views out the newly renovated windows.

As the afternoon continued with introductions into the reception space, announcements, speeches, blessings, and - of course - top deck photos of the bride and groom, everyone joined in the merrymaking, laughed and reveled as stories were shared and memories made. We enjoyed photos of the couple cutting the cake, and the final moments up on the balcony as the bride and groom kissed taking in the overlook landscape of Key West in the background.

Congratulations again to Teresa and James and wishing you a lifetime filled with joy, warmth, laughs, and love.
