Adele and Michael | Ocean Key Resort and Smathers Beach

Sometimes couples come into my life before they get married and it’s not until the big day that I get to meet the family. In Adele and Michael’s case, however, I arrived on the big day already feeling like I was “one of the group”. Sue, the mother of the bride, and I had been able to connect ahead of time, and that combined with the intimate setting, and the thorough sharing of key family and friends on the couple’s questionnaire, I truly felt like I arrived and already knew them all.

It’s wedding days like theirs that make me truly grateful to do the work that I do, and I could not be happier to have been chosen as the photographer to capture these moments!

The wedding day began that morning at Ocean Key Resort, with the bride getting ready with her friends and family in her bridal suite. We snuck a few photos of her mom helping her put on her dress and jewelry, and grabbed some bridal portraits before heading over to the groom’s room for his preparations as well.

The group headed out and departed for Smathers Beach, where Ana Aguilar their wedding planner had a lovely ceremony site set up for them overlooking the ocean. Bright blue skies and a calm seabreeze provided the perfect island vibe as the couple said their “I do’s”, and there were kisses and clapping all around once the bride and groom were officially named husband and wife!

Following some family photos amid the shade of the nearby palm trees, we took the couple out for pictures on the beach, enjoying the scenic views of Key West’s oceanfront rock jetties, before the family loaded up to head off to Hot Tin Roof for their reception. I met them back there for some candids as the group settled in for lunch, and we made quick work of celebrating with cutting the wedding cake, as the newlyweds welcomed their guests for the final chapter of their Key West love story!

Following a tour of the best photo spots around the area, including the Welcome to Key West postcard mural, the Red Doors, the Flagler Railroad Museum, the Turtle museum, Dockmaster building, and the colorful pink Harpoon Harry’s building, we circled back to where the couple’s guests were ready to head to their luncheon reception and enjoy the rest of the day together!

Congratulations Adele and Michael! I wish you many happy years and a lifelong of continued adventures and memories!
