Elizabeth and Steven | Audubon House

In a town where destination weddings for visiting couples is the norm, it was a welcome delight to celebrate with Elizabeth Toppino and Steven Davies, two Key West locals who brought together friends and family for their joyous celebration as they said their “I do’s” and danced the night away as husband and wife!

The day started out at the Opal Key Resort, where Elizabeth was hanging out with her two best friends, having her hair and makeup done by Olivia of Bella Luxe Hair and Makeup, and relaxing before the excitement of the day got underway. I arrived to capture details and a few casual photos of the preparations, as Elizabeth put on her gorgeous lace wedding gown and made her way down to the waiting classic car that would drive her the short distance to the ceremony site.

Once at the Audubon House, we made sure Steven was tucked away in hiding so that he would not see the bride before the ceremony, and this gave us a few minutes to head upstairs to utilize the unique art deco bird-inspired room ; indeed she would be the last bride able to shoot in the psychedelic pink and green exhibit.

With everyone seated and the officiant in place, the ceremony got underway as the bride was walked down the aisle by her father Richard and guests and well wishers looked on with love and congratuations.

After the ceremony, the couple did a quick victory lap around the property before joining their family members for some quick group photos. Then we snuck away to the nearby Customs House, grabbing some romantic shots of the bride and groom along the way in the picturesque green foliage of the Audubon House grounds, and - of course - given the bride’s family’s well known work in commercial construction, we had to stop to grab a few photos with the bulldozer that was parked outside the historic landmark!

Then it was time to head back to the reception to enjoy cocktails, live music, lots of laughs, speeches, and a lively dance floor for the rest of the evening!
