Cara and Devin | Sunset Key Wedding
Cara and Devin’s wedding day was a lovely example of how small intimate ceremonies surrounded by the people you love the most can be one of the most beautiful ways to celebrate your nuptials in paradise. The couple met for the first time actually on a blind date after it was suggested they meet one another, and were together from that point on! Key West would also not be the only island destination to become part of their love story. As it turns out, the first was during their surprise engagement, which Devin planned on a trip to Maui, Hawaii, completely surprising Cara and asking her to marry him!

As the couple’s Key West photographers, my colleague Mark and I arrived to the bride’s cottage on Sunset Key Resort, where she was getting ready with the hair and makeup team from Casa Salon. After capturing her stunning dress, long luxurious veil, some getting ready candids, and some portraits of the bride and groom separately, we then arranged and captured their First Look under the palm trees of their cottage. The family then joined us for group portraits, taking in the picturesque views in the background while gathering together with siblings, grandparents, and other guests. The ceremony was then begun to the music of the Key West Harpist and her talented violinist, as the bride walked down the aisle with her father. Officiant Aaron Wechter gave a moving speech and led the couple through their vows and the exchange of rings. Soon it was time for the kiss and the couple were pronounced as husband and wife! They were met with a bottle of bubbly and shared some words of appreciation, before enjoying a first dance on the beach, followed by dances with their respective parents. It was then time to cut the cake with their loved ones looking on, before we wrapped up the evening with some stunning sunset portraits of the couple on the beach and dock.
Congratulations to Cara and Devin and here’s to many more years to come. May your life always be filled with the colors of our tropical oasis, the warmth of the sunset, and the calm sense of love and belonging that island vibes always bring. With appreciation and honor, Karrie and Mark.
