Branding Shoot for Inn at Key West
The Plan
When I was contacted in 2016 by the agency for the Inn at Key West, they had one simple goal in mind: to get enough content for the hotel that they would have social media posts for the upcoming year. It would, of course, be supplemented by current events and other timely content, but the overarching goal was to
eliminate the need to worry about “what am I going to post today?”.
The Shoot
But more than just room shots and interiors, the goal was more about showing off how booking a stay at the resort could enhance the guests’ experience, so we would need to show a typical “day in the life”. For that, we scheduled a variety of activities both around the hotel and around Key West, from sweet treats to bicycle rides.
We scheduled 2 Days of shooting, the first to include food and beverage, poolside shots, and miscellaneous “around the hotel” images.
The second day we hit the town and created a series of stories about what a visitor to Key West might enjoy while enjoying a day on Duval Street.
The Images
The final gallery was a combination of lifestyle images of the models, product shots of props relevant to the stories they would be telling on social media, food photos, and some of the hotel interiors and amenities.
The Result
Following the session, it was rewarding to see the hotel using the images on their Instagram and other social media channels. Their social media management agency had the content they needed to keep a steady flow of posts for a year, and visitors to Key West were inspired by all the ways they could enjoy the island.
