3 Blog Ideas for Key West Business Owners

Idea #1 - Five Favorite _______ Around Key West

This is an excellent blog topic for several reasons.

(1) It adds a personal voice to your website, because you're giving YOUR personal insight and opinion.

(2) It adds a reference to your location, which helps your SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

What you choose to fill in the blank will depend on who your audience is.

  • If you're a banker, you might go with "5 Favorite Money-Saving Activities Around Key West".

  • If you're the owner of a B&B, you might try "5 Favorite Ice Cream Shops Around Key West".

  • If you're a non-profit organization, it might be something like "5 Favorite Fundraiser-Events Around Key West".

When you mention each location, be sure to link to them, along with a description of why you like that place (hint...Google gives higher value to a page if outbound links have wording surrounding them explaining what they're for...so don't just list them in bullets, give some insight as to why).  And, when you post them to social media, be sure to Mention / Tag them in the post, for maximum shareability.

Now, if your business model just really does not lend itself toward this type of post, no worries.  Change it up and do "The 5 Steps to My Process" instead.  Whether that's "5 Steps to Approving a Mortgage", "5 Steps to Making the Perfect Bar of Soap", or "5 Steps to Choosing New Products for the Store".

Idea #2 - Three Ways To Get the Most _______ For Your _____.

This type of post is perfect to show your audience that you care about their results.  It's a post that adds value to your customers, which helps to elevate yourself as a well-informed professional they can trust.

Just like in the first example, the blanks are there to allow you to tweak the content to your specific industry and audience.

  • If you're an accountant, you might try "3 Ways To Get the Most Money Back For Your Taxes"

  • If you're a manager at a night club, you have some fun with it and do something like "3 Ways To Get the Most Applause For Your Dance Moves".

  • If you're a fitness coach, it could go something like "3 Ways To Get The Most Miles [Out Of] Your Sneakers."

Whatever it is, be sure to include words that identify your niche audience, as that's going to help match your content to what people are searching for.

To use the last idea as an example, instead of simply explaining simply that "runners know that a fresh pair of shoes are essential", make it "Key West runners know that a fresh pair of shoes are essential when training for a marathon."  The second version makes it more specific to the type of person you're really speaking to.

Idea #3 - VIP Client or Top Team Member Post

TwoFriends-141116-106_9100-BFS.jpg

This type of post is not only one of the easiest to write (because who doesn't love to brag about their team or their favorite customers!?), but it also fosters loyalty, goodwill, and a sense of mutual respect.

For a VIP Client theme, highlight:

  • how your client reached out

  • why the reached out

  • how you helped them

  • how their patronage has helped you as a company or as a provider

(maybe the challenge they presented sparked a whole new process in your workflow...maybe they brought to light the need for a product you weren't offering before...?).

For the Team Member version of this post, have them provide a little biography about their background or their path to joining your team, then add in the qualities that make them a great addition to your company.
